This weekend I’ll be completing my 10th marathon! No, I can barely believe it! Nearly 5 years ago I chose to go meatless as I was on my journey towards health. There have been times I’ve considered going back to eating lean meats, but for now I choose to remain meatless. Yes, my weight has fluctuated a little bit since the initial 60 pound weight loss, but nothing compared to how my weight use to yo-yo when I was desperately seeking quick fixes to my unhealthy eating and unhealthy lifestyle.
Anything worth having is worth working towards. I remind myself this when I want to “veg out”, sleep in, and forget about my goal of health. I am far from perfect and fall off of the bandwagon from time to time. I know, however, that I never want to go back to feeling unhealthy and unhappy. So, I will continue to set my alarm for 4:30am, run, and prepare my breakfast smoothie.
