I can not believe that it is race weekend already. I remember thinking that July 20th was so far away, but here it is already! This race has been a bucket list race of mine for quite some time now. Who doesn’t want to go run and sip in wine country?!
Aren’t those medals so perfect! A glass of Rosé for the 5k and a bottle of wine for the half marathon… love it! (psst – still want in on the Rosé 5k? you can register online through tonight or on-site tomorrow morning for the Rosé 5k)
Last weekend I had the privilege of going wine tasting with some girlfriends in South Lake Tahoe. Now I get to enjoy some wine in Napa! The only thing that would make Napa better would be if these same ladies were going to be there. (Sadly, two of them live in Minnesota, one is from Texas, and the fourth one is from Toronto. We all met 9 years ago while teaching at an international school in Mexico. We get together once a year in a different location every year.)
I still can’t believe that race weekend is here! I signed up three months ago to train for Napa to Sonoma with Team Endure Strong coached by Jared Ward, a professional runner. I’ve enjoyed having a training plan that’s been tailor made for me. It’s been a slow journey to get back into shape post baby. Life sure changes when there’s a baby thrown into the mix! Since Jared also has a family, I like how he understands the demands of life sometimes. I will write more about Team Endure Strong in a later post.
That’s all for now. I’ll see you on the other side of Napa to Sonoma!
