Three Reasons Why Running with Friends is More Fun

Running With Friends

Running with friends is fun whereas running solo can be quite torturous! Here are three reasons why running is more fun with friends.

Reason One for Running with Friends

My top reason for running with friends is the motivation factor they provide. When waking up at 4am to go out for a run by myself, I’ll often hit the snooze button and skip my run. If I know a friend is waiting for me to meet them at the park, I am more likely to get out the door on time.

While on the run, my friends continue to provide me with the motivation needed to keep going. Just their mere presence is all I need to spur me on to keep the pace.

Reason Two… FUN

Friends bring the fun. Anyone who knows me would most likely describe me as someone who likes to have fun. I, therefore, like to make friends with those who also like to have fun. My friends and I wear silly costumes while running, do silly poses for pictures, and sign up for fun races, even virtual ones!

Most recently, we signed up for the Friendsgiving™️ Virtual Run. This race is billed as the greatest competition since Geller Bowl 7.! All we had to do was to complete any distance, any day, anywhere before the end of Thanksgiving. We even got some swag to help make it the greatest Cranberry Day ever! Could it be any more exciting?

Reason Three… HEALTH

Kill two birds with one stone by running with friends. You’ll improve both your mental and physical health. When I run with my friends it doubles as a counseling session. We talk about our jobs, our spouses, our kids, etc. When we finish our run, we feel refreshed both physically and mentally.

Running the Friendsgiving™️ Virtual Run was no different. During our 10k route, we laughed, talked, and gave one another a hug at the end. I wholeheartedly believe that running with friends is more fun! So, mark your calendars and plan to make the Friendsgiving™️ Virtual Run your annual tradition.
