Precipice of Something Big

It is 4am on Monday morning of Spring Break and I am wide awake. Why you may ask? Seraphina, my 16-month-old, woke up at about 3:45am and after a quick visit to her nursery, she went back to sleep no problem. I, however, was not able to go back to sleep as easily.

I woke up excited and giddy. You know, that kind of feeling you get as a kid the morning of visiting Disneyland. Is it because we have a big trip planned for a spring break getaway? No. Sadly, even if we had a trip planned for spring break, we wouldn’t be able to go due to the Coronavirus.

I am excited and giddy because I am at the precipice of something big, something life-changing, and something that I hope enriches your life too.

Runstrongrun.com is at the precipice of something big and you’re not going to want to miss it! #BibChat #RunStrongRun

I first started runstrongrun over four years ago, at the end of 2015. It was around this same time that I discovered the online running community. I distinctly remember lying in bed while on a weekend getaway to Fort Bragg and stumbling upon some running influencers on Instagram such as Jen of FueldbyFrosting.

I immediately knew that I wanted to start more purposefully sharing my running goals, my running adventures, and my journey from couch potato to marathoner in less than a year. This was my first purposeful running-influencer post. Surprisingly, it was featured on the Women’s Running Community Instagram page.

From this point forward, I began studying other running influencers on Instagram, looking at the hashtags they were using, what they wrote in their captions, who they tagged, etc. As my audience grew, I started applying for various ambassadorships. An ambassador, as defined by the Oxford dictionary is “a person who acts as a representative or promoter of a specified activity.” I have loved every brand and company I have partnered with over the last four years and still partner with to this day!

Throughout the last four years, from when runstrongrun.com was first born, my life has changed as I am sure your life has changed as well. Actually, did you know that “RunStrongRun” was first started back in 2012 while teaching in Mexico? AND did you know that I actually first started blogging in 2008 when I moved to China to begin my first year of teaching abroad?

I’ve always had a love of writing. I, therefore, will continue to write and share my passions. As I am reading through the Elite Blog Academy’s New Blogger’s Toolbox of books, I can’t help but get excited about the future of runstrongrun.com! This is my passion, sharing what I know about running, health, and weight loss, then getting you, my faithful readers, excited about running, health, and weight loss.

Speaking of you, my faithful audience, what would you like to read more of? How to run further? How to lose weight? How to regain overall health in your life? How to be a running ambassador? Another idea?
