The Chocolate

A race with the word “chocolate” in its name is bound to have chocolate for runners and walkers to eat. When participating in a Hot Chocolate 15k/5k in person, you’ll find chocolate in the form of fondue and hot chocolate beverages at the race expo, chocolate squares being passed out at the race starting line, chocolate candies at the aid stations, and an assortment of chocolate at the finish line.

When racing virtually, you receive two double dark chocolate hot chocolate packets along with several double dark chocolate candy squares to give you a taste of what the Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k is all about!

The Hot Chocolate 15k/5k website states, “We serve delicious dark chocolate that is gluten free and has no compounds. Have a nut allergy? No problem! Our chocolate is nut free.”

You scream, I scream, we all scream for chocolate!

The Swag

The Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k has the best swag! Every year there is a unique jacket design which is an incentive to sign up year after year.

This year’s jacket was a comfy charcoal grey full zip jacket with a removable hood. Not only is the design genius to have a removable hood, but there are a total of three zipper pockets on the sweatshirt as well as thumbholes! Out of the five Hot Chocolate races I have run (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020), this year’s jacket is one of my favorites!

In addition to the race jacket, each virtual run kit includes a keepsake 15K or 5K medal, personalized bib, previously discussed hot chocolate packets and chocolate squares, and some awesome sponsor goodies!

The Choice of Locations

The Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k has 21 locations across the United States from Seattle, Phoenix, Minneapolis, to Philadelphia.

The Legacy Program

Several races have legacy programs and the Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k is no exception! Participants are awarded legacy medals when completing their 3rd, 5th, or 10th consecutive Hot Chocolate 15k/5k race event. This year the legacy swag also included a water bottle!
