The Coronavirus Saved My Marriage

This last month has done wonders for my marriage! I, in fact, would even say that the Coronavirus saved my marriage!  Say what?!  No, seriously.  One may think that having both husband and wife working from home with a toddler and two teenagers would be a recipe for disaster, but the opposite has been true.  

Prior to quarantine, hubby dearest and I rarely went on walks together.

Prior to quarantine, the two teens, hubby, and I had jam packed schedules which included full time jobs, band practices, sports, and other events that took us away from the home. 

Thanks to the coronavirus, hubby and I now take 1 – 2 walks a day together.  During our walks, we mostly admire our neighbors’ homes and plan future home projects. 

Thanks to the coronavirus, the five of us have been able to sit down and have family meals together more often.

It Starts in the Mind

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

This motivational quote, “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change” was shared out by Momentum a couple of weeks ago and it has been so powerful in changing my mindset. It’s easy to focus on the negative, but if I intentionally shift my mindset, all of the sudden the things I’ve been looking at change.  

“Whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things.” Philippians 4:8

How are you looking at your current circumstances?  I challenge you to change the way you’re looking at things.  Before long, you’ll see the things you’re looking at begin to change. 

Yes, I am a “go-go-go” person.  It’s been hard staying at home.  I miss sitting down with my friends in person and chatting over a glass of wine, hanging out at the coffee shop to get my work done, casually walking into a store and browsing, and running all of the races. I, however, am so grateful for what COVID19 has done for my marriage and my family. The coronavirus saved my marriage!

  2. The COVID-19 forced me to stay put. Spending more quality time with my family. And we started a survival garden together.

      • Yep. I am into easy to grow greens such as pechay, lettuce, kangkong and arugula. I also planted the three sisters for long term consumption.

      • Nice! I love following along on other people’s gardening journey. For myself, I like to say I have a brown thumb… all plants that I come into contact with die. 🤷🏻‍♀️
