From Loss to Life

Remember the blog post I wrote last year titled “Holidays and Loss“? Well, this holiday season was vastly different from last holiday season (thank you Jesus)!

If you follow me on any of the socials, you may have seen the following picture along with the story behind the image.

“My first injection was in June 2017. These pill containers, syringes, needles, and other medications represent two failed IVF attempts and one success, three lost embryos, and countless tears/prayers. If you have walked a similar road, you know the emotional, physical, and financial toll of infertility. If you’re currently walking this road, I’d love to meet you for coffee, pray for you, and give you a hug. There’s no words someone can say to ease the void of infertility. Just knowing, however, that someone is praying for you and standing beside you helps. Through it all, God is good. “Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.” Romans 12:12″

Christmas Day 2017 while at my in-law’s house, I found out that my second embryo transfer failed. All I wanted to do was to crawl into the corner and sob. I remember my mother-in-law whispering in my ear, “There’s still hope,” but at the time I felt hopeless. After crying out to

God, He placed “hope” as my word for 2018.

Fast forward to Christmas Day 2018. This year while at my in-law’s house, I had the pleasure of placing my nearly four week old baby in her cousin’s arms. This adorable little 4 year old could not wait to hold her!

What a difference a year can make! God never ceases to amaze me. Time and time again I’ve seen him turn ashes to beauty, loss to life. God is good!

How was your holiday season? Tell me about it in the comments below.

Until next time,
