Review: Luvo Bowls

If you’ve been following my blog for a while now, you may recall me reviewing the Luvo meals over the summer.  (Read previous review HERE.) Much of what I said in my previous review still remains true, especially their 3-2-none promise. The three things Luvo focuses on are: fruits and veggies, whole grains, and quality proteins (awesome for a #nomeathathlete such as myself!). The two things they limit are sodium and added sugar. The things they leave out entirely, none, are artificial colors, flavors and sweeteners. (Read more about their 3-2-none promise HERE).

The difference when reviewing the Luvo meals this time, was that instead of being sent coupons to buy the meals in the store, I was sent a gift card to purchase meals online.  Purchasing the meals online was a cinch!  I was able to select what I wanted, the quantity of each product, and check out quickly. My product was shipped to me in a timely manner, I received updated tracking information, and when I received my product it was packed with packets of dry ice so that everything stayed nice and cool.

The other difference is that most of the meals I reviewed this time around were focused on their line of bowls.  As a busy, full time teacher and mom, I value finding a lunch to take to work that is quick, easy, and healthy.  I love that the Luvo bowls are cooked and served right within the paperboard bowl.  As stated at luvoinc.com, “Our Luvo Bowls offer delicious culinary recipes with full servings of veggies, whole grains and responsibly sourced proteins – in our convenient paperboard bowl.”.

I loved it when my students would come into my classroom after I had just prepared a Luvo meal and ask, “What is that?  It smells so good!”

One meal that I didn’t have a chance trying last time was the Roasted Cauliflower Mac & Cheese.  My fellow Bib Rave Pros were raving about this meal, so I could not wait to try it!  I am happy to report that it did not disappoint!  There are some days where I’m just craving some good ‘ol cheesy mac ‘n’ cheese and this definitely hit the spot!

Although I enjoyed the Mac & Cheese Luvo bowl, my top two favorites were the Kale Ricotta Ravioli bowl and the Quinoa & Veggie Enchilada Verde bowl.  SO delicious & nutritious!
