Do you have a dresser drawer overflowing with event t-shirts? Do you save your t-shirts because they have sentimental value? Are you unsure what to do with your t-shirts besides stuff them in a box in your closet? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then not only was I in the same boat as you, but I have a solution! Turn your favorite t-shirts into a blanket with Project Repat!
With minimal prep on your part, you can go from an overflowing dresser drawer to a beautiful custom blanket! Here’s how it works…
STEP ONE: Order your t-shirt quilt at ProjectRepat.com! Choose your panel size, quilt size, and fleece color. My panel size is the standard size 12″ by 12″ and my quilt size is a twin, 24 panels. Although there are 7 different fleece colors to chose from, I chose black since I thought it would best compliment my 24 race t-shirts.
STEP TWO: Project Repat will email you detailed instructions for preparing and shipping your shirts. The first step is to gather the t-shirts you’d like made into a blanket and decide if you want both sides of the shirt on your blanket, or just one side. As for my shirts, I chose just one side to be displayed. I, therefore, gathered 24 t-shirts and cut off the side that I wanted to send in to Project Repat. I also made sure that the design would safely fit into each 12″ by 12″ panel. (Do not cut the shirt into the 12″ by `12″ panels, Project Repat will do that for you.)
Separate the two sides.
Check the size of the design.
Once I had all 24 t-shirts cut, I laid out the t-shirts in the exact order I wanted them to appear on my blanket. This is an optional step. I wanted all of my t-shirts to appear in chronological order since they tell the story of how I went from an obese couch potato to a 10 time marathoner! If you choose to specify the order of your t-shirts, be sure to print out a clear, color photo and send it in with your t-shirts.
Finally, you are ready to mail off your package to Project Repat! I recommend choosing a flat rate shipping box to save on shipping costs. Look! I even had a helper come along with me to the post office.
STEP THREE: Project Repat sends you a beautiful t-shirt quilt made from all of your t-shirts!
