This, my friends, is why I choose to keep on running. The woman on the left said, “This body doesn’t run.” The woman on the right said, “You’re worth it. Now get out there and run!” It was slow going at first, but in less than a year I went from couch potato to marathoner. To date, I have run a total of 9 marathons! By the end of 2016, I’ll have run a total of 12 marathons! 🏃🏻… Look how much bigger my smile is now compared to when I weighed 60+ pounds more! The smile on the right says, “I love my body. I am not perfect, but that’s ok. I’m going to continue on this journey of health because it feels good!”
Marathon #9… Can you believe it?! I’m almost to the double digits! This marathon was a little different because it was my first marathon that I paced. “Pacing… what’s that?” you might be thinking. Let me tell you, if you love running and love encouraging others, then pacing would be a perfect fit for you! Check out the group that I pace for by going to beastpacing.com This race was also unique because I posted all about my race weekend on a takeover for Inspiring Women Runner’s Instagram page. Here’s what I wrote during my takeover…
Yes, that’s right! On August 7th I hit that magical mark… 1,000 miles year to date!
My morning’s run of 6.45 miles brought my year to date total to 1,000 miles! I’m pretty sure this is the MOST I have EVER run EVER! All intentional running mileage… I didn’t even count the day before’s Color Run since it was mostly a walk.
Next weekend is marathon number 9! I’m pacing it as a pacer with Beast Pacing. I can not think of a better way to celebrate 1,000 miles than with a marathon! Five years ago I could barely run a block, much less a marathon! Thank you friends and family for your support and encouragement all along the way! And last, but certainly not least, thank you to my Heavenly Father! It’s all by His strength!
Today’s #transformationtuesday is about family. What a joy it was this weekend to see my Aunt Diana again after last seeing her in 2009 when I went to visit her in India! My mom and Diana have been BFFs since high school. Diana has been there through it all, which makes her family. She is a woman of great faith, joy, and someone I look up to. Continue reading
